Jason A. Straw, DDS was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Brigham Young University, receiving his Bachelor of Science in exercise physiology. He played football for BYU, receiving the Western Athletic Academic Award for outstanding academic and athletic performance.
Dr. Straw graduated magna cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. Dr. Straw completed his four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center and affiliated hospitals.
Dr. Straw provides a broad range of oral and maxillofacial surgical services with an emphasis on dental implants and bone grafting, wisdom teeth exams and removal, general anesthesia and intravenous sedation, corrective jaw surgery, and facial trauma. He also has extensive background in dental implants and implant-related procedures, as well as orthognathic surgery. He maintains certification in Advanced & Basic Cardiac Life Support and a California General Anesthesia license.
Dr. Straw is fluent in Spanish and has participated in Mission of Mercy projects as well as cleft lip and palate reconstruction at the Cranio-facial Specialty Clinic at Loma Linda University in San Bernardino, California. Dr. Straw is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, California Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the California Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Straw’s interests include mountain and road biking, water skiing, camping, snowboarding, adventure hiking, and spending time with his beautiful wife Karen and eight children (Josh, Nate, David, Kaitlyn, David, Austin, Weston, Emily and William).
